The “recession” is now personal, and I now need another income source

February 10 2009   Comments

Up until now, my family and I have been surviving the “recession” with little effect on our daily life. The worst we have really seen is that for a short while my wife’s hours were cut from 40 down to 32, but that was a temporary thing and considering she works for a closing company (mortgage industry) it was not at all surprising.

That was the good news, the bad news is that my income has now taken a hit, or has at least been limited. One of the two networks that I currently blog for have decided to put a limit on the amount of posts that can be written. That means less posts and in turn means less traffic and that will eventually mean even less ad revenue. Overall it sucks and while I do not agree with the decision that was made, I can respect it.

What does that mean for me? Well thankfully I have been writing for more than one company, so while this lowers my income a little and leaves me with some concern in the coming months, it does not leave me with no money coming in.

It also means that I need to add another revenue stream, in other words I need to find another blogging gig. If you hear of something, blogging and tech related please let me know.
